VIRIDIS Design Group provided professional landscape architectural services to Eckert Wordell on behalf of the People's Food Co-Op (PFC) of Kalamazoo. PFC is relocating  to a new retail center in the Riverfront District near Downtown Kalamazoo. The site is a part of the city's Brownfield Redevelopment program; VIRIDIS assisted PFC with coordination between Brownfield program staff and City site plan review requirements. PFC's program included several sustainable initiatives including rainwater harvesting, minimized development footprint, native plantings and porous pavement. VIRIDIS provided design services to integrate these intiatives with Brownfield redevelopment guidelines and ultimately succeeded in ushering  the project through the City's site plan review process and into construction. VIRIDIS was responsible for all site documentation including storm water management, site utility connections and landscaping.
