VIRIDIS Design Group provided professional landscape architectural services to Downtown Kalamazoo Inc to develop a comprehensive vision for the Downtown's landscape beautification. The five block design study along Burdick Street focused on landscape enhancements that would provide seasonal interest, color, texture, and sense of place that would compliment the vibrant retail district. The final plan included a diverse mix of deciduous and evergreen shrubs, perennials and ornamental grasses, as well as a detailed design for seasonal planter rotations. Stakeholders for the study included local business owners, Downtown Development Authority, and City officials.
