VIRIDIS Design Group provided professional park master planning services to the Kent County Parks Department for this 50 acre park reclamation of the former sand and gravel mining operation. Stakeholders for the study include: Kent County Parks Department, City of Walker, City of Grand Rapids, local service clubs and donors. Located directly adjacent to the popular recreation core, proposed project amenities include: large group picnic pavilion, multi-use performance area, memorial overlook, donor recognition area, new parking and entry drive, multi-age natural playground, non-motorized trail extensions, rain gardens, bio-swales, and extensive native upland and wetland prairie restoration.
